“When it came to completing the school’s window replacement programme, the second phase went as smoothly as the first.” – Mr Salvatore Apruzzese, Site Manager

Thanks to the resounding success of phase one of this major refurbishment plan, St James’ C of E Primary School needed no second thoughts when they once again contracted Droylsden Glass to carry out the remainder of this tricky operation.

The job was by no means straightforward, because firstly the new windows had to fit within the original gothic style openings that included ornate archway tops and heavy stone mullions, and secondly all the work had to be precisely scheduled to coincide with the school’s Easter and Spring Bank holiday breaks while the site was clear of pupils.

Once again though, Droylsden Glass overcame all these challenges and the school was absolutely delighted with the outcome. Now all the windows incorporate energy efficient PVCu frames plus heat saving double glazed units. The result is that all the classrooms are brighter, warmer and more comfortable, and of course the new frames, although they are perfectly compatible with the school’s original architecture, are virtually maintenance-free
