Supporting a Premium Property Refurbishment with Heritage-Inspired Windows and Doors

Project Overview

Droylsden Glass was pleased to once again partner with Henderson Homes on the refurbishment and remodelling of a beautiful detached property in Wilmslow.

Having previously worked together on a successful residential development in Timperley, Henderson Homes entrusted Droylsden Glass with the complete window and door package for this latest project. The brief was to complement a high-quality property renovation with windows and doors that would enhance kerb appeal while delivering the modern standards of security, energy efficiency and performance expected by today’s homeowners.

Aesthetics played a major role in the specification, with the developer selecting heritage-inspired flush sash products finished in the increasingly popular Agate Grey on White colour combination. The result is a home that successfully blends timeless design with modern performance.

The Client Brief

As part of a wider refurbishment programme, Henderson Homes wanted the window and door installation to contribute both visually and practically to the transformation of the property.

The aim was to create a home that offered strong kerb appeal whilst benefiting from modern levels of thermal efficiency, security and everyday comfort. Particular attention was given to the overall appearance of the property, with flush sash windows and doors chosen to create a cleaner, more refined aesthetic than conventional casement systems.

The finished design needed to reflect the quality of the wider refurbishment while helping add value to the completed home.

The Solution

Following consultation with Henderson Homes, we supplied and installed a carefully coordinated package of flush sash windows, French doors, patio doors and composite entrance doors.

By maintaining consistent styling, colour and hardware throughout the property, the finished installation provides a cohesive appearance that complements the wider architectural improvements undertaken as part of the refurbishment.

The combination of flush profiles, seamless weld technology and premium Agate Grey finishes creates a modern yet timeless appearance that enhances the character of the property without overpowering it.

Flush Sash Windows with Heritage Appeal

The project included the installation of nine Deceuninck Flush Casement Windows featuring Infinity Seamless Weld technology.

Flush sash windows continue to grow in popularity due to their clean sightlines and heritage-inspired appearance. Unlike standard casement windows, the sash sits flush within the outer frame, creating a more elegant and traditional look.

The addition of Infinity Seamless Weld technology further enhances this appearance by creating exceptionally neat corners and refined detailing that closely replicates traditional joinery.

Finished in Agate Grey externally with a white internal finish, the windows provide a contemporary aesthetic while remaining sympathetic to the property’s residential setting.

Security Built into Every Window

Security was an important consideration throughout the project.

Each window was fitted with the Kubu Superior multipoint locking system, incorporating bi-directional hook locks, mushroom cams and shootbolts that help create a stronger and more secure connection between sash and frame.

Additional security features including hinge protection devices, glass retention locks and restrictor hinges provide further reassurance whilst maintaining ease of operation.

Beyond security, the advanced locking system helps pull the sash firmly into the frame, improving weather sealing and contributing to the overall thermal performance of the windows.

Enhanced Comfort and Energy Efficiency

The window specification included A-rated low-E, low-iron glazing, helping maximise natural light levels while contributing to improved energy efficiency throughout the property.

Integrated trickle ventilation was also incorporated throughout the installation, helping maintain healthy background airflow and reducing the risk of condensation without compromising security.

Together, these features help create a comfortable internal environment whilst reducing heat loss and supporting long-term energy performance.

Stylish and Practical External Doors

The project also included the installation of two flush French door combinations and two Deceuninck Slider24 patio doors, all finished in matching Agate Grey.

The French doors provide elegant access to external spaces while maintaining the clean aesthetic established throughout the property. Meanwhile, the Slider24 patio doors maximise natural light and create strong visual connections between internal and external living spaces.

Featuring toughened safety glazing, advanced locking systems and premium chrome hardware, the doors combine practicality, security and style in equal measure.

Premium Composite Entrance Doors

To complete the refurbishment, two Carnoustie-style GRP composite doors were installed in a premium Agate Grey finish.

The doors feature Avantis multipoint locking systems designed to secure the door at multiple locations around the frame rather than relying on a single central locking point. This creates multiple layers of protection while helping improve weather performance and durability.

The inclusion of low aluminium thresholds also improves accessibility whilst helping reduce potential trip hazards for future occupants.

Combined with satin glazing and carefully selected hardware, the doors create welcoming entrance points that complement the quality of the overall refurbishment.

Delivering Long-Term Value

This project demonstrates how carefully specified windows and doors can play a significant role within a wider property refurbishment.

The completed installation not only enhances the appearance of the home but also delivers meaningful improvements in security, thermal efficiency, comfort and durability. Low-maintenance materials help reduce future upkeep requirements, whilst modern glazing and locking systems ensure the property is equipped to meet the expectations of future homeowners.

The result is a property that feels both contemporary and timeless, perfectly aligned with the quality standards expected from a Henderson Homes refurbishment.
