- Homeowner Case Studies
We recently completed a comprehensive window and door replacement project at a residential property in Bolton. Working for a returning client, the brief was to improve the home’s thermal performance, security and everyday comfort while maintaining a clean, traditional appearance.
This project demonstrates how modern window and door systems can deliver exceptional energy efficiency and security without compromising on style.

Project Overview
The property required a complete upgrade of its existing windows and doors to improve performance, reduce heat loss and provide greater peace of mind for the homeowner.
The installation included:
21 Deceuninck 2500 Traditional White uPVC casement windows
2 GRP composite doors with reinforced frames and high-security hardware
40mm triple-glazed units featuring low-E and low-iron glass
Advanced security systems throughout
The result is a property that benefits from improved insulation, enhanced security and a fresh, timeless appearance.
The Challenge: Combining Performance with Traditional Styling
The client’s priority was to achieve a significant improvement in energy efficiency without altering the character of the property.
The specification called for high-performance triple glazing, which offers excellent thermal insulation and acoustic benefits. However, the additional weight of 40mm triple-glazed units required careful consideration to ensure the windows would remain structurally sound and perform reliably for years to come.
Security was also a key requirement. The client wanted modern protection against intrusion while retaining easy everyday operation and a traditional aesthetic.
Our Window & Door Solution
To meet the brief, we specified Deceuninck 2500 Traditional White uPVC casement windows throughout the property. Designed to complement a wide range of homes, the traditional profile provides a classic appearance while incorporating modern performance features.
Due to the increased weight of the triple glazing, every window was fully reinforced to provide additional strength, stability and long-term durability.
Each window was fitted with 40mm triple-glazed units featuring low-E and low-iron glass. This combination helps maximise thermal efficiency while allowing exceptional clarity and natural light into the home.
Security Features
Security was enhanced across the entire installation with:
Avantis KUBU Superior multipoint locking mechanisms
Bi-directional hook locks
Mushroom cams and shootbolts
Glass locks
Hinge guards
These features work together to provide a highly secure system designed to resist forced entry while maintaining smooth operation.
Ventilation and Everyday Comfort
The windows were also fitted with trickle vents, an important feature in modern homes. Trickle vents provide a controlled flow of fresh air, helping to reduce condensation, improve indoor air quality and support effective background ventilation without the need to leave windows open.
For added practicality, quad restricted hinges were installed throughout, incorporating both easy-clean and egress functionality. This allows for safer operation, simplified maintenance and compliance with emergency escape requirements where necessary.
Composite Door Installation
Alongside the window replacement, we installed two GRP composite doors designed to complement the property’s appearance while delivering outstanding security and durability.
The doors featured:
A Black Ash Brown grained finish externally
A white internal finish
Matching reinforced uPVC outer frames
Black hardware for a coordinated, contemporary appearance
Each door was fitted with:
Avantis composite door locks
Avantis cylinder guards for additional protection
Composite door hinge bolts to safeguard vulnerable hinge points
The finished doors provide a strong, secure and attractive entrance solution that perfectly complements the new windows.
Installation Process
Our team worked efficiently to minimise disruption throughout the project, maintaining clear communication and a tidy working environment from start to finish.
Careful planning and precise installation ensured every reinforced frame, glazing unit and door system was fitted to the highest standard, delivering both immediate benefits and long-term reliability.

The Result
The completed installation has transformed the property’s performance, security and comfort levels.
The new triple-glazed windows significantly improve thermal efficiency, helping to reduce heat loss and create a more comfortable living environment throughout the year. At the same time, the advanced locking systems and reinforced construction provide enhanced security and peace of mind.
The traditional styling of the Deceuninck casement windows and composite doors ensures the property retains its character while benefiting from the latest advancements in glazing and door technology.
