We travelled over to the pretty Cheshire town of Knutsford to look at a striking detached period property, with a view to replacing all its windows. The clients had checked out our many hundreds of great reviews on Trustpilot and had been convinced to give us a go.

Over time, the existing hardwood timber frames had begun to rot, leaving them in a poor state of repair. As a result, heat loss was becoming a major problem and draughts could be felt throughout the house.

Having inspected the property we agreed to replace the windows – including a patio door – with low maintenance uPVC framing that would significantly improve heat loss, leading to much better insulation and a reduction in energy bills.

case study

We used high-performing white uPVC Liniar Sculptured profiles with ‘A’ rated double glazed units and white furniture. All windows have trickle vents and we used black uPVC cills, in keeping with the original colour scheme of the timber windows.

Later, we returned to the house to replace the existing roofline. The client wanted to retain some of the characteristics of the gutters, hoppers etc., so we used a Brett Martin Cascade Cast Iron style rainwater and soil system.

The clients were delighted by our work, and have commented how much warmer their home is now as a result of the new high-performing windows.
